Get ready for a whole new take to the “21 Jump Street” remake.
Based on Johnny Depp's ‘80s TV series, “21 Jump Street” stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as cops who go undercover as high school students to expose a drug ring at their alma mater.
Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the remake features a cameo by Depp. However for box office appeal, it's not surprising that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star doesn't appear in the trailer.
"I went and did my bit as I was hoping to, and it worked out really well. It was really fun,” Depp told MTV. “I got to spend some time with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum and the wonderful directors [Phil Lord and Chris Miller\] on that. It was a great experience."
Tatum took to Twitter to announce the release of the red band trailer, which is loaded with profanity and shows the two stars in a mess of hilarious hijinks.
The remake of ”21 Jump Street” hits theaters March 16, 2012.
